On February 12th, Professor Hans-Jochen Schiewer, Rektor of the University of Freiburg, and Larry Hines of the Princeton Club of New York met at the Princeton Club to sign an affiliation agreement between the two organizations which grants alumni from around the world, professors and students from the University of Freiburg who might be in New York for internships to join the Princeton Club.
The Princeton Club is located at 15 West 43rd Street, just near Times Square, the Theatre District and the Grand Central Station. Facilities offer hotel rooms, meeting rooms, restaurant and bar, library, full gym and several other amenities. It is a perfect “home away from home” for alumni visiting New York needing a place to stay and hold meetings. It is a wonderful base for alumni in the New York area to meet friends, make new friends, network and to take advantage of the numerous political, cultural and social events sponsored by the Princeton Club.
The Princeton Club also has reciprocal rights with some 200 clubs around the world including several in Germany and Freiburg alumni who join the Princeton Club have rights to any of these clubs.
At the signing ceremony in New York, Professor Schiewer was presented with his Membership Card, making him the first University Freiburg member of the Princeton Club.
In the near future, the University of Freiburg will publicize the specifics of the admission process. In the meantime, Freiburg faculty, students and alumni are encouraged to visit the PCNY (princetonclub.com) to learn more about this.
